The Maraş Türkoğlu Prison administration has been putting prisoners under pressure for 2 weeks. Prisoners, including Swedish citizen Ahmet Nas, have not been given food for 2 weeks.
Ahmet Nas, who is both a Turkish and a Swedish citizen, spoke to his family by phone and stated that arbitrary pressure was imposed on them and that no food was given for 2 weeks.
'They left us to die'
Stating that the repression has increased in the past 2 weeks, Nas said: "The pressures increased in all aspects. We are subjected to arbitrary practices. They closed our ventilation (there was a small window and they closed it). They used to give us two meals a day but gradually reduced the food. Previously, a 12-person ward was given food for 6. At the moment they are not giving food at all.
We wrote petitions, but our petitions are not answered. The pressure is increasing by the day and they have basically left us to die. We are not given the items and letters sent by our families and friends. If when we come to make our phone call, we are under pressure as the guards say we can't look left nor right."
Ahmet Nas called on international organizations to help.
