Ebru didn’t lose her life, she was killed

Lawyer Ayşegül Çağatay paid tribute to lawyer Ebru Timtik who is not among “us anymore. We last called you to join us in front of Sadi Konuk Hospital. We said that Ebru Timtik was in critical condition and we had only minutes left to save her. Maybe now people have gotten used to being called to critical situations, but her situation was really critical. Ebru lost her life by struggling to her last breath. In fact, she didn’t lose her life, she was murdered.”

Çağatay said: “We just said we wanted justice. When she was kidnapped and taken to the hospital, she would never accept treatment in these bad conditions and did not want to entrust her life to these people she did not trust. We demanded her release, but they did not listen to us."

Stating that those who remained silent for days made despicable statements after Ebru Timtik was murdered, Çağatay emphasized that Ebru Timtik was the lawyer of the people and that the public knew her honesty and value.

No time left for Aytaç Ünsal

Reminding that there is not much time left for lawyer Aytaç Ünsal, Çağatay said that Ünsal was much angrier after losing Ebru Timtik and added: “There is no need for too many words. Either we will do something today or won’t do anything at all. Those who do not act today should not come to our funerals.”

A statement was read by lawyer Aytaç Ünsal's wife and colleague Didem Baydar Ünsal. Ünsal said, “Our Ebru gave her life without hesitation so that people in this country would not experience unlawfulness and injustice again."
