YBŞ (Shengal Resistance Units) General Command has released a statement about the ongoing operation against ISIS gangs in Shengal town of South Kurdistan.
The statement said that Shengal Resistance Units conducted a comprehensive offensive targeting two hills where gang groups were deployed at 04:00 on October 8.While at least 2 members of the gangs were killed and one other was wounded as a result of effective hits, clashes in the area continued interruptedly all day long.
Resistance Units also conducted an action against the gangs, which left many of them wounded or dead.
The statement said a total of 11 gang members were killed and 8 others were wounded in clashes throughout the day, while a large amount of ammunition belonging to them were also seized. One DshK machine gun of the gangs was seized and one DShK-laden vehicle was destroyed.
COALITIN AIRCRAFT HIT THE GANGS
YBŞ General Command reported that coalition forces conducted 5 airstrikes against gangs deployed in Xeyr Nasır neighborhood, and one other on those in Shengal town centre between 18:00 and 19:00 on October 8. The results of the airstrikes couldn't be verified.
