25 Yazidis rescued by SDF set out for Shengal

SDF handed over 25 Yazidi women and children rescued from ISIS gangs to the Yazidi House in Amude. The rescued Yazidis set out for Shengal following a press conference.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) handed 25 Yazidi women and children rescued from ISIS gangs to the Yazidi House in Amude to be taken to the Shengal Democratic Council.

SDF Commander Berxwedan Amude said SDF’s Operation Cizire Storm rescued hundreds of women and children and added: “We handed over another group of Yazidis to the Yazidi House to be taken to the Shengal Democratic Council.”

Yazidi House Cizire Region Administrator Ziyad Hamid thanked the SDF and stressed that over 1000 women and children have been rescued to date.

Hamid stated that over 3.040 Yazidis are still missing according to official numbers.

The 25 rescued Yazidis were taken to the Semalka border gate where they were greeted by Shengal Council members and set out for Shengal.
