5 soldiers killed in Şemdinli

HPG guerrillas launched an action targeting the Durê outpost in Hakkari's Şemdinli district on July 7, which left 5 soldiers dead and many others wounded.

HPG Media Center reported in a written statement that Turkish jets shelled the Bêrmê hamlet in Gabar, and intense reconnaissance activity in the area continues.

HPG reported a guerrilla action targeting the Durê outpost in Hakkari's Şemdinli district at 18:30 on July 7. Two soldiers were killed and an emplacement was destroyed as the first guerrilla unit hit the outpost.

A second guerrilla unit hit the outpost's main entrance gate, leaving 3 soldiers dead.

Troops at Durê outpost and Şemzinan Brigade shelled the surrounding areas with mortar and artillery fire after the action which was dedicated to guerrillas martyred in Lice operation of Turkish army.

At between 14:00-15:00 on July 7, guerrillas hit the soldiers deployed on Hill Geniş in Şemdinli. While the strikes of guerrillas with heavy weaponry started a fire in the tents of soldiers, the number of casualties couldn't be verified.

Turkish warplanes bombed the Bêrmê hamlet in Gabar region at 11:00 on July 7. Turkish drone activity over the area continues.

On July 6, TRT Gabar and Gırê Cotyar Battalions bombed Gelî hamlet in Gabar region with howitzers and mortars.

On July 2, Turkish troops in Evnê Bênat, Zıvıngê, Fındıkê, Gundıkê Şêx outposts and Suadiye, Zıvıngê, Güvenlik hills bombarded Fındıkê hamlet in Gabar with howitzer and mortar fire which started a fire in the area.

At 19:00 on July 5, guerrillas hit a Turkish military unit deployed on hill Nivro guarding the Bespin outpost in Şırnak's Silopi district. While one emplacement where there were 4 soldiers was hit effectively with heavy weaponry, the number of casualties couldn't be clarified. Turkish army launched a bombardment in the wake of the action and started a fire in Sarpıtnê village and Gırê Çolya area.

At between 09:30 and 11:00 on July 6, Turkish troops at Bespin and Mıla Gurya outposts bombed Gırê Çolya and Geliyê Hasana areas and the bombardment caused a fire that still continues.

At between 09:00 and 12:00 on July 7, Turkish jets bombed Gırê Hırmo, Gırê Çolya and Navsera Cudi areas in Cudi. The bombardment started a fire in a large area.
