HPG Media Center issued a written statement and said that guerillas continue to carry out comprehensive actions against the operations and occupation of the Turkish state in Kurdistan. HPG also described the claims of Turkish media outlets suggesting that commander Bahoz Erdal was killed as a lie that is part of the Turkish state’s psychological warfare, and said that the fascist regime in Turkey was lying to its public in order to conceal the heavy losses it has recently been suffering.

ACTION AGAINST THE 80 SOLDIERS AT PAY OUTPOST

HPG stated that guerillas carried out a sabotage action against the nearly 80 special operations forces at the Pay Gendarme Outpost in Van’s Erciş district on the evening of July 9. The majority of the outpost was destroyed during the action, which was carried out by the Martyr Destan Revenge Team and dedicated to the memory of guerillas that fell as martyrs in Amed.

1 SOLDIER KILLED IN ÇUKURCA

The Media Center announced that HPG guerillas carried out an action with heavy weaponry against the soldiers at the Tepê Sor outpost in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 09:00 on July 8, and 1 soldier was killed during the action. Soldiers randomly shelled the area around the outpost after the action.

HPG stated that guerillas carried out an action with heavy weaponry against the soldiers at Geniş hill in Hakkari’s Şemzinan district at 07:00 on July 9, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.

CLASHES IN ŞIRNAK

HPG stated that clashes between soldiers and guerillas broke out near the village of Toptepe (Avkamasiya) in Şırnak at 23:00 on July 9, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been determined. The guerillas safely reached their base after the clashes.

The Media Center said that guerillas carried out an action from 3 directions against the soldiers at Martyr Rahime and Martyr Zerdeşt hills between 13:30 and 14:30 on July 9, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been determined.

TURKISH ARMY LAYS MINES IN TENDÜREK

HPG noted that soldiers have been planting mines in the rural parts of Ağrı’s Tendürek region, and 1 civilian died and 1 civilian got injured when one of these mines exploded in the Zozana Taşkesen region of Diyadin on July 9.

WARPLANES BOMBARD XAKURKÊ

HPG stated that Turkish warplanes bombarded the Gostê hill, Ranya Pirê region and Hacıbeg creek areas of Medya Defense Zones’ Xakurke region between 10:30 and 11:00 on July 9.

3 GUERILLAS FALL AS MARTYRS IN IĞDIR

Lastly, HPG stated that special army units launched an operation in the Kırêkor region of Iğdır on July 3 and an hour long clashes broke out between soldiers and 3 HPG guerillas at 19:30. The 3 HPG guerillas fell as martyrs during the clashes, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. Soldiers ended their 4 days-long operation and withdrew from the area on July 7.
