HPG Media Center issued a written statement on guerilla actions and the attacks of the Turkish army. Accordingly, HPG guerillas carried out an assassination action against the army battalion in Şırnak. HPG reported that 2 soldiers died during this action, and state forces from the Çelê Nimêja military post bombarded its surroundings after the assassination action.
GUERILLA CHECKPOINT
HPG stated that its forces formed a checkpoint on the road between Mardin’s Midyat district and Şırnak’s Hezex district between 22:00 on April 8 and 05:00 on April 9. During this roadblock, HPG guerillas informed civilians about the political process and burned 4 vehicles belonging to a private firm that does business with the AKP.
ACTION ON THE ROAD BETWEEN AMED AND BİNGÖL
HPG announced that its guerillas carried out an action at 19:00 on April 8 against the Turkish soldiers who had formed a checkpoint on the road between Amed and Bingöl, and the number of dead and injured soldiers has not yet been identified.
HPG noted that the Turkish army has been laying ambushes around Amed’s Kocaköy district for the past 3 days, and threatening the residents of Şaklat and Hewrê villages.
ACTION AGAINST SOLDIERS TRYING TO BUILD A ROAD
HPG Media Center stated that guerillas carried out an action against the soldiers who were trying to build a road between the Maymun hill military post in Şırnak’s Uludere district and the Martyr Kendal hill between 13:00 and 14:00 on April 8. Turkish soldiers stopped their efforts after their vehicles were heavily damaged, and bombarded the nearby Martyr Renas hill with artillery.
MILITARY DEPLOYMENT TO LEYLEK HILL
Lastly, HPG noted that soldiers accompanied by Skorsky and Kobra type helicopters were deployed to Leylek hill in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district.
