CIK: Muslims can’t remain silent for Yazidi genocide

Civaka Islamiya Kurdistan condemned the Yazidi massacre and said, “Anybody who considers themselves a Muslim will bear the weight of remaining silent for this massacre in this world and the next.”

Kurdistan Islamic Community-Civaka Islamiya Kurdistan (CIK) issued a written statement on the anniversary of the Shengal genocide.

The CIK statement is as follows:

“We condemn the perpetrators of the massacre and their supporters. We wish Allah’s wrath upon them. We would like to remind everybody that we must fulfill our duties so the murderers and others with responsibility in the violence can be revealed and sentenced. The Yazidi people were subjected to a genocide, a grave calamity as a people. It is unacceptable that this massacre was carried out for Islam. We state that it is impossible to justify this massacre through religion. We all know that the true perpetrators of this calamity are those who use religions for power. We would like to remind honest Muslims that not speaking up against this massacre is a weight around our necks in this world and the next. We share the pain of the Yazidi people and promise that we will wage an extensive struggle together and in alliance. It is an urgent duty to remove the fragmentation from among our people.”
