The “curfew” in the rural areas of Amed's Silvan district has been extended and Turkish army started a large scale operation in the territory under curfew.

The already ongoing curfew in 13 villages and hamlets in the countryside of Amed's Silvan (Farqîn) district has been extended by Diyarbakır Governorate Thursday morning, with which over 20 villages and hamlets have gone under an all-out siege.

After the imposition of the extended curfew, Turkish military forces started an operation in the villages and hamlets of Dêrika Hemê Reşo, Malaelîkê, Dêrikamiqûrê, Siltêniyê, Xapa, Cîcika, Şevlera, Malabadê, Ferhend, Kanîsipî, Herşen, Taxikê, Kurbeyt, Baxçe, Sextê, Huseynka, Beynat, Tîrkevank, Mistika and Başimt. Local sources report that hundreds of soldiers reinforced from Amed and Batman provinces have been deployed in the mentioned territory before the beginning of the operation, and conducted house raids in some villages. With the beginning of the curfew, entry and exit has been prohibited in more than 20 villages and hamlets.

While the operation is also joined by village guards, power and phone service has been cut off in some areas amid an intense drone activity.

Gunshots are being heard from the area of Derîka Hemê Reşo village with the beginning of the operation and curfew.
