DBP and HDP organise demos in Amed against Öcalan's isolation

Demonstrations to protest the aggravated isolation of Öcalan will be held in the main Kurdish city Amed starting from today.
DBP and HDP Amed provincial organisations held a press conference announcing events and demonstrations they have organised to demand an end to the aggravated isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, about whose security of life concerns are increasing in the wake of the coup attempt of July 15.
Speaking here, HDP Amed co-chair Cebbar Leygara put emphasis on the need for a struggle against the chaotic atmosphere Turkey is being through.
Leygara said Öcalan must be enabled a meeting immediately, adding that their struggle will continue in order for this to happen.
The demonstrations to be held in this scope include;
- Sit-in at Koşuyolu Park from 19:00 to 23:00 for three days starting from today,
- March organised by KJA (Free Women's Congress) from AZC Plaza to Democratic Society Center (DTK) building on July 26, Tuesday,
- March from Koşuyolu Park to DBP office at 17:00 on July 27, Wednesday.
A mass rally with the motto "No Coup, Democracy Now" will be held at the Station Square on July 31 with the participation of HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş.
