Derin Peshmergas support the human shield action against invasion

The Derin Peshmergas have expressed their support for the human shield action started by the youth in Qandil against Turkey’s invasion attacks on South Kurdistan.

The invasion efforts of the Turkish state in South Kurdistan are widening. The protest of the Kurdish population against the occupation attacks also continues. On June 14, Kurdistan Patriotic Youth Movement initiated a human shield action in Binare Qandil region in response to the Turkish invasion operations and attacks against South Kurdistan.

Many members of the South Kurdistan veteran group Pêşmergeyên Dêrîn (Derin Peshmergas) from Kirkuk, Sulaymaniyah, Qarahajir, Bazyan, Sharbajer and Ranya have arrived in Binare Qandil yesterday to express their solidarity with the human shield action activists.

The peshmerga group was welcomed by KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Member Diyar Xerib who made a short statement and said that; “We hope that the patriotic Kurdish people be sensitive and adopt a serious attitude in the face of the heavy invasion operation against South Kurdistan.”

Derin peshmergas then visited the activists in the human shield action where Hawrê Derya made a statement to the press on behalf of the peshmerga veterans and said the following:

“The government of Kurdistan Region has been silent while the Turkish state has been invading the lands of South Kurdistan. We, the Derin Peshmerga, have never remained silent on occupation and injustice so far, and we will not do that now either. We stand by the guerrilla, who are our brothers and sisters.”
