Five soldiers killed in ongoing actions by guerrillas
At least five soldiers were killed in ongoing actions by HPG / YJA-Star guerrillas in Hakkari, Amed and Şırnak provinces in Northern Kurdistan.
HPG Press Office has released a statement providing details about the ongoing actions by guerrillas.
HAKKARİ
Accordingly, guerrillas infiltrated into the Siyaxela hill in the countryside of Hakkari's Şemzinan district at 18:30 on July 29. Guerrillas hit an emplacement of Turkish soldiers at close range, which left 4 soldiers dead and 1 other wounded.
In the afternoon of July 29, guerrillas conducted two assassination actions patrolling in Şapatan area of Şemzinan but the number of casualties couldn't be verified.
At between 22:00 – 22:30 on July 29, guerrillas hit an armored vehicle heading from Yüksekova to Şemzinan. The casualties left here couldn't be verified either.
At between 05.00 – 08.30 on July 30, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers deployed around Martyr Rahime, Martyr Zerdeşt and Leylek hills in Oremar area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district. While the number of dead and wounded soldiers couldn't be clarified, Turkish troops bombarded Hill Sor, Hill Martyr Rahime and Hill Martyr Diren with howitzer and mortar fire.
At 21:00 on July 29, guerrillas infiltrated into the area where soldiers were deployed on Martyr Hozan hill in Binbir area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district. Clashes erupted in this area and lasted till 06.00 on July 30. Details of the fighting will be announced once made clear.
AMED
Turkish army started an operation near Haciya Kurda village in Amed's Bismil district at 10:00 on July 29. Guerrillas hit two armored vehicles in a sabotage action at 12:15, leaving one of them destroyed. While the number of casualties couldn't be clarified, the operation in the area continues.
MARDİN
Turkish military started another operation in Bamıdê, Atxê, Zıvıngê, Serêkani, Quzo, Xerb, Sıtılilê and Urık villages in Omerya area of Mardin at 04:00 on July 28. The operation was partially retreated one day later.
ŞIRNAK
At 19:30 on July 28, guerrillas conducted assassination actions targeting soldiers in Mıla Gurya outpost in Şırnak's Cudi area, as a result of which 1 soldier was killed and another was wounded.
