'Freedom Vigil' for Öcalan launched in Amed

A 'Freedom Vigil' has been launched in Amed to protest the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, deepening with the state of emergency.

A 'Freedom Vigil' has been launched in Amed’s Koşuyolu Park led by Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) yesterday evening to protest the deepening of the isolation imposed upon Öcalan with the declaration of state of emergency. Many citizens attended the vigil which will continue for 3 days. HDP Amed MPs Sibel Yiğitalp and Feleknas Uca, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven, representatives from NGOs and KJA activists also supported the vigil.

The demonstration will continue for 3 days between 19.00 and 23.00 hours every evening.
