Gas explosion in Sulaymaniyah leaves 15 dead, 13 injured

An LPG gas explosion left 15 people dead, and 13 others injured in Sulaymaniyah city of southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) on Thursday.

Three houses were destroyed by an LPG gas explosion in the Kaziwa neighbourhood of Sulaymaniyah earlier today. The search and rescue operation launched after the explosion has come to an end.

Rojnews reports that the death toll has risen to 15 while 13 people survived with injuries and were hospitalized. Those with serious injuries are kept in intensive care units.

Kurdistan Region’s Interior Minister Rêber Ehmed is expected to go to the neighbourhood where the explosion took place.
