Guerrilla Sêrt: Our struggle will be worthy of the Kurdish people

Stêrk Sêrt said that the HPJ guerrillas will fight and be worthy of the Kurdish people. “The enemy is carrying out massacres in 4 parts of Kurdistan. For this reason, all of our youth should join the guerrillas.”

Speaking about the attacks carried out against the Kurdish people, HPJ guerrilla Stêrk Sêrt said that they will resist until the end to be worthy of the Kurdish people. She said that her family migrated from Kurdistan to Antalya due to the persecution of the state.

Guerrilla Sêrt said that they grew up in Turkish metropolises and they were constantly confronted with enemy approaches. “I saw that I could not live in that system once I identified the enemy. The fact that my family is a patriotic one, also brings me closer to the organization. Later, I chose this sacred path and joined the ranks. I went to Rojhilat for the first time in 2016. After a short while, I went to Merivan. After going to Rojhilat, I had the chance to get to know the region and its culture better. The people of Rojhilat are patriotic, loyal to their land and very powerful. This has further increased my commitment to Rojhilat.”

Guerrilla Sêrt talked about her comrades who fell martyr next to her and said: “When I went to the first action, I had friends who fell martyr next to me. The martyrdom of my friends was very difficult for me. The task of avenging our martyr friends was given to the Merivan group. We prepared for this and our action ended successfully. It was my first time joining an action. I wanted to be in the assault group. Martyr Sorxîn and Martyr Karker were with me. Martyr Sorxîn asked how I felt during the action. Honestly, I didn't know exactly what I was feeling because it was my first time. After the demonstration, we entered the police station with martyr Karker. I saw a survivor approaching heval [comrade] Karker. I could not save my friend's life. From then on, it has become important for us to avenge our martyr friends."

Noting that their actions had a great impact on the people, guerrilla Sêrt said: “The people claimed our actions and this has given us great strength and morale. The Iranian state is currently developing the village guard system. But after our action, it was the village guards who laid down their weapons. After getting in touch with the people, I vowed I would protect them. A mother told me she was a militia member for another party in the past, but that party is now fighting against their brothers. She said to me ‘Today my hope is you’. As a HPJ guerrilla, I promise to be worthy of this people.
