SDF: Turkey increases airstrikes

The SDF said that Turkey had increased its attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria, targeting the countryside of Manbij, as well as Tishrin Dam, and Qarqozaq Bridge.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center issued a statement confirming that Turkey has increased its attacks, targeting the Tishrin Dam as well as the Qarqozaq Bridge.

The statement said: "Despite the cessation of fighting in most Syrian regions following the fall of the former regime, Northern and Eastern Syria remains under ongoing attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. These attacks have continued for over three months. Our forces remain steadfast in defending the region, regardless of the intensity of the aggression."

The statement added: "On the Tishrin Dam front, Turkish occupation warplanes carried out multiple airstrikes on Saturday, including two targeting workers’ housing of the dam. Simultaneously, heavy artillery shelling continued in villages across the southeastern countryside of Manbij, causing material damage to civilian homes. Artillery fire also struck one of our positions, resulting in minor injuries to one of our fighters. During an attempted attack by the occupation and its mercenaries using suicide drones, our Martyr Haroun Units successfully thwarted the attack and shot down the suicide drone in the northern countryside of the dam."

The statement further detailed that "on the Qarqozaq front, Turkish occupation warplanes conducted several airstrikes on the villages of Ghasq and al-Tina, while a Turkish armed drones targeted one of our positions, leading to two of our fighters experiencing mild poisoning due to exposure to toxic explosive gases. These airstrikes were accompanied by ground attacks using heavy artillery, tanks, rocket launchers, and mortar shells on the villages of al-Tina, Ja’dah, Bir Hissou, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and al-Sana’, as well as areas around the dam, the Serrin junction, and the Saifi Hill and Qarqozaq Hill. More than 60 shells were indiscriminately fired, causing extensive material damage to civilian homes and property.

In response to these attacks, our forces launched an operation targeting the occupation’s bases, fortifications, and mercenaries west of the bridge. The full extent of the losses inflicted on the occupation forces remains unknown."
