The Press Centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information about the war in Kurdistan territory.
AMED
In the Şehîd Serxwebûn area in Lice, the Turkish army has been trying to capture mountain peaks and establish positions since winter. At the same time, the Turkish army has begun to construct military installations in the areas of Girê Boxaza Cuma, Gundê Sîverekê, Gundê Medrese and Girê Mêrgê. In parallel, the army has been carrying out attack operations and laying ambushes continuously for six months.
At 20:15 on 30 April, a military convoy with operational units was stopped by the guerrillas between Gundê Mêrgê and Gundê Sîverekê using sabotage tactics. An armored vehicle was destroyed and 13 military personnel in it were killed. The operation in the area was continued by the Turkish army until 5 May without results.
While another military operation was launched in the same area on 10 May, guerrilla commander Dilgeş Zagros and fighter Bawer Korkmaz fell as a result of the attacks carried out by the Turkish army.
ZAP
In the Girê FM resistance area in the Zap region, the guerrillas responded to an attack by the Turkish invading forces on 16 May.
METINA
On 18 May, the guerrillas responded in self-defence to an attack on the Girê Hekarî resistance area in Metîna.
ATTACKS ON MEDYA DEFENCE ZONES
On 17 May, Turkish fighter jets bombed the Girê Bahar, Girê Cûdî, Girê FM and Girê Amêdî resistance areas, the area around Sêgirê village and Deşta Kafya in Gare 22 times.
On the same day, seven attacks were carried out by helicopters on Girê Mozelan, Koordine, Stûna, Serzêrê and Tirvaniş in the Metîna region.
Between 16 and 18 May, the HPG recorded 37 attacks with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons on Girê FM, Girê Cûdî and Sîda in the Zap region, as well as on Girê Şehîd Heqî, Girê Şehîd Kamuran, Girê Şehîd Hêmin, Çilûçar and the Lolan shore in Xakurke.
