HPG: 4 invaders killed in Avaşin and Zap

The HPG Press Centre has announced that 4 invaders were killed during guerrilla countermoves against the invading Turkish forces in Avaşin and Zap regions.

People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Centre released a written statement providing information on the latest situation and developments in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) where the Turkish army has been conducting an occupation operation since April 24.

The statement, according to which at least 4 invaders were killed in Zap and Avashin regions, includes the following:

“In the Zap region as part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign:

On July 8, at 18:30, the invaders in the Cîloya Biçûk area were targeted by our forces in a coordinated guerrilla action from 3 directions. The first guerrilla group hit the positions where the invaders were stationed, leaving 1 of them dead. The second guerrilla group hit 2 positions with full accuracy at close range, as a result of which 2 positions were destroyed and 2 invaders were killed. Moreover, the surveillance cameras on the hill and the invaders on the move near the positions were hit with individual weapons. 1 surveillance camera was demolished there. The third guerrilla group targeted and destroyed 2 separate surveillance cameras.

As a result of this successful action, which was carried out in memory of the immortal martyrs of the 14 July Prison Resistance and in which the new era guerrilla style was effectively implemented; 3 invaders were killed, 2 positions and 3 surveillance cameras were completely destroyed.

In the Avaşîn region as part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign;

– On July 8, at 18:00, the invaders on Martyr Dijwar Hill were hit in a targeted action by YJA Star guerrillas, leaving one of the invaders dead.

– On July 8, at 17:40, the invaders on the Martyr Dijwar and Martyr Intikam hills were struck with heavy weapons."

On July 8, at 17:20, the Goşînê area of ​​the Xakurke region was bombed by fighter jets, said the HPG and added that guerrillas suffered no casualties in the attack.
