HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement providing information about actions by guerrillas and attacks by Turkish military.

7 SOLDIERS KILLED IN ULUDERE

According to the statement, guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against an armored vehicle of the Turkish army heading to Seyidan outpost at the border of Şırnak's Uludere district. 7 soldiers were killed in the guerrilla action which was carried out between 09.00 – 10.00 on April 5.

Another action by YJA-STAR (Free Women's Troops) guerrillas targeted a Turkish troop moving towards the Seyidan outpost at 16:00 on April 7. The action with mortars hit the troop, leaving many soldiers dead or wounded, but the number of casualties couldn't be verified exactly.

5 GUERRILLAS MARTYRED IN SASON

HPG reported that Turkish troops backed by UAVs launched an operation in Sason area of Batman province on April 5. Turkish troops in ambush confronted a guerrilla unit in the area at 18:00 in the evening, which resulted in an armed clash. 1 sergeant was killed and one guerrilla died here.

Following a one-step retreat of the troop in the wake of the clash, Turkish forces expanded the operation to a larger area with the support of UAVs. In repeated heavy clashes in this area, 4 guerrillas fell fighting.

HPG added that ID details of the martyred guerrillas will be announced once made clear.

TURKISH JETS SHELLED QANDİL, OREMAR AND SÜMBÜL

HPG said Turkish jets conducted an intense bombardment targeting the area between the villages of Kortek, Lewcê and Enzê, and the surroundings of Zergelê and Silê villages between 02.00 – 05.00 last night. The shelling damaged the fields and gardens of local people.

During the same hours, Oremar and Sümbül areas of Hakkari's Yüksekova district were also bombed by Turkish jets.

TURKISH SOLDIERS LAYING AMBUSHES

HPG also stated that Turkish soldiers are laying ambushes in the territory between Mêrga Piro and Döşeme areas of Ağrı's Doğubeyazıt district, and the area between Bazid and Karacaköy during the past 2 days.
