HPG: 9 soldiers killed in guerrilla action near Bezelê outpost

HPG-BIM stated that one military vehicle was destroyed and 9 soldiers were killed as a result of a sabotage action near the Bezelê outpost on July 10.

People's Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) reported in a written statement that guerrillas conducted an action targeting a group of soldiers on move between Martyr Zerdeşt and Martyr Rahime hills in Oremar on Thursday. While the number of dead and injured soldiers couldn't be verified, Turkish army shelled the area at random, which started a fire.

HPG stated that a sabotage action by guerrillas targeted a Turkish military convoy heading from Hakkari's Yüksekova district to the Bezelê (Aktütün) outpost in Şemzinan (Şemdinli) area at between 11.00 - 12.00 on July 10. The convoy was hit between the villages of Sirinus and Dêrebanê, which left a military vehicle destroyed and 9 soldiers dead.

HPG said Turkish forces started an operation in the area following the action which was dedicated to 8 guerrillas martyred between Zêvkan and Kertiniz villages of Hakkari's Yüksekova (Gever) district on May 23 and the youth named Sami Kaplan murdered by Turkish forces in Şemzinan's Bêmbo village.

Guerrillas seized a vehicle transporting supplies to the Şamanıs outpost in Van's Gürpınar district at 11:00 on July 13. The driver was warned and released by guerrillas.

At 12:00 on July 12, guerrillas burnt down a vehicle transporting supplies to the Beyazçeşme outpost in Amed's Dicle district.

An assassination action by guerrillas targeted the Gas outpost in Bingöl's Genç district at 16:45 on July 13, which left one soldier dead. Guerrillas also hit the outpost.

HPG-BIM added that Turkish forces laid ambushes near the villages of Selpane, Spandıka, Dirişkê and Dêravut near Mount Gabar in Şırnak on July 13.
