HPG Press Liaison Center (HPG-BIM) commemorated three guerrillas who fell as martyrs in the violent clashes in Çukurca district of Hakkari and Başkale district of Van at the end of August.

HPG-BIM said in a written statement: "In the morning hours of 31 August, intense clashes erupted involving the invaders and our forces around the village of Guzereşê in the Geliyê Tiyarê area of ​​Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district.”

The statement added: "The invading Turkish army, was targeted by our forces and could not advance. It then carried out an intense air attack against the area. As a result of the air attack, our friend Mervan fell martyr and our comrade Sinan was injured. Comrade Sinan, who continued to fight against the invading forces who wanted to advance in the area until his ammunition was exhausted, was captured by the invaders. "He martyred himself with his last bullet in order not to fall in enemy’s hands."

Guerrilla fell martyr in Başkale

HPG-BIM said that a guerrilla fell martyr in Başkale as well: "On August 25, clashes erupted between our friend who was on duty in the are of Sıpırız, in Başkale (Van) and the invading Turkish army. As a result of these clashes, our friend Hüseyin, who fought heroically until the last bullet, fell martyr."

We extend our condolences to all the patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially the precious families of our heroic fallen and we promise that we will keep the sacred memories of our martyrs alive in our struggle.”

Operation in Hakkari

The statement added: “On the night of August 31, the invading Turkish army launched an operation in the area of Sümbül Mountain in Hakkari. This operation, in which secret troops carry out compass activities, continues.”

Xakurkê and Avasin bombed

In the same statement, it was stated that the invading Turkish army carried out air strikes against Medya Defense Zones, and the following details were given:

"On September 1, between 10.20 and 11.20 pm, warplanes bombed the area of Sininê in the Xakurkê region.

On the same day, at 10.30 pm bombing took place in the Werxelê area in the Avashin region and at 9.50 pm in Shkefta Brindara and Kurojahro areas of Zap."
