The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has published the names of six fallen guerrilla fighters. Kemal Evîn, Dilgeş Davûş, Tolhildan Artêş, Nûrhak Başkale, Tolhildan Artêş and Azad Azadî fell in the Medya Defense Zones in 2017.

The HPG said in a statement: "The freedom guerrillas of Kurdistan are fighting heroically against all attacks by the Turkish state. 2017 was also an important year of resistance. Our comrades Kemal, Dilgeş, Tolhildan, Nûrhak, Tolhildan and Azad turned all places from Cîlo to Zap into resistance areas during the Turkish army's attacks on the Medya Defense Zones and fell as martyrs. They led our epic resistance and fought selflessly to the last breath in the harsh conditions of Zagros. They have accepted every sacrifice for the freedom of our people. These precious comrades are the true builders of the free future we are closer to. They have taken an honorable place in the history of the liberation of our people. We consider it our revolutionary task to lead the struggle they have taken on to success. We promise to keep their dreams alive in a liberated Kurdistan.”

The HPG expressed their condolences to the relatives of the martyrs and to the Kurdish people and named the martyrs as follows:
