HPG Press Office has released a statement detailing the most recent actions conducted by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan.

GEVER

HPG stated that guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Xırvatê outpost in Hakkari's Gever district at 19:15 on July 26. A guerrilla named Rênas Cudi detonated a bomb-laden car near the outpost which was simultaneously hit by guerrillas from five sides. Two watch towers in the outpost were destroyed and many armored vehicles were damaged in the action.

While the exact number of casualties inflicted here couldn't be verified, dead and wounded soldiers were removed from the scene with many ambulances. Guerrilla Rênas Cudi fell a martyr during this action of self-sacrifice. His ID details are as follows;

ŞIRNAK

HPG said that another action by guerrillas targeted the hill of Şırnak Brigade at 16:30 on July 26. The tents used by soldiers on the hill caught fire as a result of the action but the number of dead and wounded soldiers couldn't be clarified. Turkish forces bombed Deriyê Meydana and Deriyê Berroja areas with howitzer and mortar fire after the action.

On July 27, guerrillas hit the soldiers partaking in the operation launched by Turkish army in this territory. While the death toll inflicted here couldn't be verified either, the operation continues.

GEVER

At 12:45 on July 27, guerrillas hit the soldiers deployed around Martyr Rahime and Martyr Zerdeşt hills in Oremar area of Hakkari's Gever district from three sides. The number of dead and wounded soldiers couldn't be made clear.

BİTLİS

At between 17.00 - 18.30 on July 26, guerrillas performed road check in the triangle area between Hizan district of Bitlis, Pervari district of Siirt and Bahçesaray district of Van. Guerrillas continued their road checks till 17:00 on July 27, until when they informed the people about the process and performed ID checks. Guerrillas seized the arm of a village guard and released him after a warning. Guerrillas also seized some other arms during the road check.

VAN

HPG added that Turkish military units are laying ambushes in Hespinekê, Şevekê, Marças and Ziyaret villages of Van's Erciş district. A counter-guerrilla unit is dressed in guerrilla uniforms.
