HPG reports ongoing use of chemical weapons by the Turkish army

The Turkish army carried out twenty chemical weapons attacks on guerrilla positions in Southern Kurdistan within one day.

The Turkish army continues its war crimes in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq). According to the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG), guerrilla positions in the Çemço area in the Zap region were attacked twenty times with chemical weapons from 5 pm on 27 December until the evening of 28 December. In addition, smoke from lit car tires and plastic material was introduced into the guerrilla positions. At the same time, the area, which is located in Sheladize town in the Amadiya district, was shelled dozens of times with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons. The area around the village of Sîda was also attacked by artillery fire.

The Turkish Air Force bombed the areas of Dola Mêranê in Gare and Newroz in Qandil four times on Wednesday, according to HPG.

The guerrillas continue to resist the Turkish invasion. According to the HPG, the occupation forces in Çemço were struck three times by guerrilla fighters with heavy weapons on Wednesday. At least three soldiers were killed in the actions.
