The press office of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information on the latest developments in the Turkish state’s war in Kurdistan territory. Accordingly, the Turkish army continues its bombardments in the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). Numerous airstrikes have been carried out again in the last two days. Artillery attacks also continue to take place.

HPG stated that guerrillas targeted the Turkish forces stationed at Hill Azad in Metina region on July 9. One soldier was killed in the action, while two surveillance cameras were destroyed.

On the same day, guerrillas targeted the Turkish troops at the Militan Gorge. The number of dead and wounded could not be determined. A transport helicopter approaching the battle area to evacuate soldiers was "effectively targeted" and had to withdraw as a result.
