HPG: Turkish army operation in Lice ended without yielding results

HPG Media Center announced that the Turkish army’s operation in Amed’s Lice, Kocaköy, Hazro and Kulp districts ended without yielding any results. The Media Center stated that many soldiers died and got injured during the 12 days-long operation in which nearly 10 thousand special operations forces participated.
In its statement, HPG Media Center noted that Turkish warplanes bombarded the areas of Martyr Kendal, Martyr Serxwebun, Martyr Ferhat and Apê Musa at the beginning of the operation, and land forces entered the Sise and Pêşi Kevir areas on June 22. Clashes broke out between guerrillas and state forces near the villages of Dêrxust and Henyad in Sise on June 23, and guerrillas carried out an assassination action against the soldiers near the village of Henyad. The numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified.
HPG said that intense clashes took place between guerrillas and soldiers near the villages of Helhel, Mahlê and Kerwas on June 25-26, and 3 soldiers got killed during the clashes near the village of Cumarê on June 26.
HPG announced that a guerrilla named Masiro fell as martyr during the clashes, and the guerrilla’s ID information would soon be shared with the public.
The Media Center noted that the soldiers could not yield any results during their operation, and killed a civilian in the village of Mahle on July 2.
HPG stated that many soldiers died or got injured during the 12 day long operation in which nearly 10 thousand special operations forces participated, and the Turkish army retreated from the Martyr Serxwebun and Martyr Ferhat regions to the Temel strait on July 2.
HPG guerrillas carried out an action against the soldiers at the Milika outpost in Amed’s Hani district at 14:00 on July 2, and 1 soldier got killed in the action.
Lastly, the Media Center announced that guerrillas carried out an assassination action against the soldiers at the Suveren outpost in Amed’s Genç district at 19:00 on July 2 with semi-automatic weapons, and at least 1 soldier got killed as a result of the action.
