On 14 June a human shield action was launched in Qandil and on 24 June in Bradost to protest the attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state against Bashur (South Kurdistan).

The human shield action launched by young people has reached day 42 in Qandil and day 32 in Bradost.

Many citizens from different provinces of Kirkuk, Sulaymaniyah, Chamchamal and Bashur came together and went to Qandil and Medya Defense Zones. Young people from Rojava, Bakur, Rojhilat are parts of the human shields. There are also some internationalist youth in the action.

Citizens from Bradost have visited the human shields every day despite the KDP public forces harassment.

Human shields much appreciate the support of people and condemn the attitude and behaviour of the KDP asayish (security) forces.

Speaking on behalf of the human shield activists, Sipan Zagros said: "Our call to all the Kurdish people is not to remain silent about Turkish occupation and to be united. Today is the day of unity. Our call to young people in the Bradost region, is to join our human shield action."
