The Turkish state continues its invasion attacks on southern Kurdistan (kr. Bashur). With the support of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), it strives to cause grudge and anger among Kurdish people. Intellectuals from Girke Lege spoke to ANHA on the issue and stressed that the KDP committed unforgivable crimes.

Laleş İsmail Heybet, member of Qamishlo Association of Intellectuals stated that the KDP, through its betrayal, damages whole Kurdish people, not only a political party. Defining the KDP’s stance as betrayal, he criticized the Barzani family for adopting betrayal policies and asserted that the Turkish state seeks to annihilate Kurdish people in the person of the PKK. “They intend to eliminate the achievements of Kurdish people and prevent the Kurds from achieving a status in any territories stretching to Rojava from Shengal and Bashur,” he said.

‘THE KDP SHOULD STAND WITH KURDISH PEOPLE’

Heybet called upon the KDP to act in the frame of the interests of Kurdish people and continued, “Nobody has the right to start an intra-Kurd fight. The KDP should not forget the massacres against Kurdish people and clarify its stance in the face of invasion attacks. We should enhance the struggle by following the footsteps of our martyrs and support the guerrilla against the occupiers.”

Likewise, Ebdulhelim Ehmed Lawi, member of Qamishlo Association of Intellectuals expressed that the attacks targeting southern Kurdistan aim to eliminate the achievements of Kurdish people. He pointed out the agreement between the Turkish state and the Damascus government with Russia, saying, “They attack the Kurdish people by compromising with Russia and Damascus government on one hand and the USA on the other hand. The attacks on Metina, Zap and Avashin are the continuation of the attacks in Syria. All of them aim to annihilate the achievements. The intellectuals should take an active role against these attacks. They each should be a pioneer in order for all the problems experienced by the Kurdish people to be resolved.”
