Women's News Agency (JINHA) reporter Zehra Doğan and HDP Mêrdîn MP Ali Atalan’s advisor Mazlum Kavak were detained in a cafe they were sitting in Mardin's Yenişehir district last night.

Doğan and Kavak were taken into custody following a Criminal Record Check performed by police, on the grounds that they had been testified against.

Doğan and Kavak were taken to Mardin Police Directorate following a medical check at Mardin Public Hospital. They were later referred to Nusaybin Police Directorate.
