A delegation headed by KNK Kurdistan National Congress) co-chair Zeyneb Murad has visited the Maxmur refugee camp, which has been attacked by the Turkish army and has been under an embargo for years.
The People's Assembly co-chairs welcomed the delegation in Maxmur Refugee Camp.
After a visit to the Institution of Martyrs' Families, the delegation made examinations on the site where the Turkish army carried out a drone attack on June 5.
“This is a place where children receive educated, there is no military point,” Murad said during her speech on the spot.
“We condemn this attack and express our support to the people of the camp. We call on the regional government, the Iraqi central government, the United Nations and human rights institutions not to remain silent towards the attacks targeting the civilian population. Every Kurdish individual has the right to live in peace in the territory of Kurdistan. As the Kurdish people, we should our national responsibilities,” RojNews cited Murad as saying.
“The Kurds can stand against the attacks, halt the occupation and achieve freedom if they unite,” Murad added.
Leyla Arzu İlhan, a member of the Maxmur Foreign Relations Committee, stated that they are content with the visit of the KNK delegation.
“As the camp residents, we closely follow the KNK's efforts for Kurdish national unity. We believe that these efforts will help the Kurdish people to achieve freedom,” she said.
