Massacre, migration and call from people in Shehba

ISIS gangs have kidnapped more than 1500 people and massacred hundreds of these captives during their attacks on nearly 100 Kurdish villages around Al Bab over the past 15 days.

Shehba once again faces the risk of massacre and migration worse than the ones that took place in the Tal Aran and Tal Hasıl regions, which happened after the FSA Aleppo Commander A. Cabbar Egidi’s meeting with other FSA commanders in the city of Antep in July, 2013. ISIS gangs have kidnapped more than 1500 people and massacred hundreds of these captives during their attacks on nearly 100 Kurdish villages around Al Bab over the past 15 days. Many of the massacred locals are reported to be children, and more than 30 thousand people migrated from the area.

Jaysh Al Thuwar Spokesperson Ahmed Hüso spoke to ANF on ISIS gangs’ abduction of civilians in the villages near Al Bab over the past 15 days, and said that the massacres in Shehba are no smaller than the genocide of Êzîdî people in Shengal.

'THEY FEED THE DOGS WITH CORPSES'

Hüso said the people that risked their own lives and escaped from the region stated that ISIS carried out a big massacre and tragedy, and even banned the use of receivers, televisions and phones in the area. Hüso said that ISIS either beheads or executes with bullets the people that are caught with phones. Civilians that made a call to Jaysh Al Thuwar say that nobody leaves their homes because ISIS gangs abduct civilians day and night, and behead the people they abduct. Reportedly, there are many heads still in the desert, and nobody can bring the gangs to justice for their crimes. Villagers state that the gangs feed their dogs with the corpses of people they kill, and the civilians have no option but to hide in their homes and wait for their turn to be murdered.

Hüso stated that nearly a hundred Kurdish villages are experiencing the current tragedy, and the villages of Qar Kelbin, Qubbe Şêx, Arap Wêran, Qaibe, Bırç, Bilixa, Sosınbat, Şıpêran, Tal Batal, Kavuklu, Şava, Êreme, Tal Cırcır, Naman, Qıbbesin, Nêrebiyê, Eyyübiyê, Boğaz, and Eseliyê are the center of the massacres, abductions and migration.

'BEHEADED PEOPLE'

Hüso stated that 227 people from Qubbe Şêx, 400 people from Qebbesin, 150 people from Arap Wêran, and 70 people from Qeibê have disappeared due to ISIS abductions and beheadings. 10 people were killed in Qubbesin village with the use of explosive devices attached to their necks, 9 people in Tal Eyşi village were beheaded, and 3 people in Şıpêranê village were beheaded. Reportedly, ISIS gathered tens of civilians and blasts them with explosives, and 9 people were hung from trees in the village of Susık. Hüso added that many of the abducted civilians were taken to Qıbbesin village and kept there as prisoners or used as human shields in Manbij.

'THEY MASSACRED TENS OF PEOPLE AND BURIED THEM IN TRASH'

Jaysh Al Thuwar Spokesperson Hüso stated that some of the abductees were taken to Al Rai and nearby villages in order to dig up trenches, and some of them are kept in chicken farms near Al Bab. Reportedly, some people tried to escape from these places but were burnt alive when they got caught. 15 people have been massacred in Sosınbat, Qeibe, Arap Wêran and Şıpêran so far, and another 40 people were murdered and buried in trash near the villages of Numan. These 40 people are believed to be Kurdish villagers.

'30 THOUSAND PEOPLE LEFT THEIR HOMES'

Hüso emphasized that nearly 30 thousand people have migrated from Shehba region due to the ISIS massacres in the Kurdish villages near Al Bab over the past 15 days. Hüso stated that 27 thousand people have arrived in areas under their control over the past 3 months, and the 13 thousand of these people have arrived at these areas over the past 17 days. Hüso said that many civilians risk their own lives as they escape and reach the Ehraz region under the control of SDF forces. The civilians are later then taken to Kefer Nasih and other destinations such as Idlib, Azaz and Afrin.

PEOPLE’S CALL

Lastly, Jaysh Al Thuwar Spokesperson Ahmed Hüso stated that the regions people often call upon SDF forces to reach and liberate them.

In the meanwhile, Turkish forces have removed the fences and cleared the mines on its border between Jarablus and Çobanbey, and transported hundreds of Turkish, Chechen and Afghan gangs into Jarablus.
