State forces continue to spoil the evidence of Cizre massacre, which happened after the Turkish state and the European Court of Human Rights prevented the passage of ambulances to the conflict zone. Cizre Peoples’ Assembly Co-President Mehmet Tunç, who had recently said from the basement of savagery that they would not surrender to state forces, is believed to be among the massacred civilians.
TUNÇ’S LAST WILL
In a TV show he recently joined from Cizre, Tunç had said that not only them but also humanity would die if the basement in which they had sought refuge collapsed due to state forces’ attacks. Tunç had criticized state forces for their prevention of ambulances from evacuating the wounded civilians, and called upon volunteer medics to examine the bodies in the basement before they were stolen away for secret burials.
'GREETINGS TO THOSE WHO RESIST’
In his last statements, Tunç had emphasized their will to struggle and called upon Kurdish people to keep their heads up high in the long struggle of the Kurdish movement. Tunç had noted that the freedom struggle would continue even if the wounded people in basement were killed, and greeted everyone who resisted in Cizre against state attacks in which tanks, artillery, flame throwers and rocket propellers were frequently used. Tunç criticized state forces’ calls for ‘surrender,’ and praised the people of Cizre for their resistance against the savagery of the AKP government.
'WE WILL NOT KNEEL DOWN TO AKP FASCISM'
Tunç had recalled the historic resistance of PKK figures such as Hayri Durmuş, Kemal Pir and Mazlum Doğan against the savagery of Turkish soldier Esad Oktay, and said that the people of Cizre were resisting AKP fascism in a similar manner. Tunç had said they would continue to resist despite the lack of food, water, and medication, and called upon everyone to show solidarity with Cizre.
'SECOND MADIMAK IN CİZRE'
Tunç had reported from the basement of savagery that 9 people burnt to death because of the fire that was caused by state forces’ artillery attacks, and described the environment in the basement as ‘the second Madımak,’ where more than 30 Alevi civilians were burnt to death in 1993. Tunç had described the silence of Turkey and the United Nations on Cizre as shameful, and called upon everyone to prevent the death of the nearly 37 civilians who had not yet died in the basement of savagery.
