Memyan Botan is one of the fighters who have become a legend in the history of resistance in Kurdistan. His civil name was Abdullah Dündar and he was born in 1993 as the child of a patriotic nomadic family in Siirt province. Raised in the guerrilla stronghold of Botan, he tried to preserve his Kurdish identity against Turkish assimilation policies. A life in a system in which Kurdish culture was considered a crime and disregarded seemed senseless to him. Therefore he took to the mountains.

During his time with the guerrillas, he became better acquainted with the philosophy of Abdullah Öcalan and used it as a tool for his life. From the very beginning he actively participated in all tasks. With his modesty and his attachment to the actual values, he quickly took a permanent place in the hearts of his companions. He was a sacrificial militant who claimed to meet the demands of the modern guerilla with military discipline.

In the resistance of Heftanin, he followed in the footsteps of martyrs like Egîd, Amara and Tolhildan and fought with the determination not to give way to the occupiers. When he was wounded, he aimed his last hand grenade at himself, so as not to fall into the hands of the enemy alive. So he joined the caravan of the martyrs on June 25, 2020. With his life and his struggle, he has become one of the heroes of the resistance of Heftanin.
