PKK Committee announces the death of Karwan Horamî

The PKK announced that Karwan Horamî died of acute kidney failure in April. The revolutionary, who was born in Sine, had been a member of the Kurdish liberation movement for 15 years and was last active in the field of the free press.

In a statement on Thursday, the PKK Committee of Martyrs’ Families announced that PKK member Karwan Horamî died of acute kidney failure in the Medya Defence Zones on 14 April.

The committee paid tribute to Horamî as a sincere and unconditional revolutionary of Kurdistan and expressed its condolences to his family and the Kurdish people, especially the people of Sine.

Karwan Horamî's real name was Mihemed Malik, and he came from Jawero in Sine (Sanandaj), a town in Eastern Kurdistan (Iran). He had been an active member of the Kurdish liberation movement for fifteen years and most recently worked in the field of the free press. Despite various illnesses, including asthma and diabetes, he always gave one hundred percent, the committee said.

"From the day he joined the PKK until the day he joined the Caravan of Martyrs, comrade Karwan remained tirelessly loyal to the paradigm and philosophy of Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]. He devoted himself to every task with dedication and worked with morale, enthusiasm and a comradely spirit to always develop his strength and skills. He was a fighter of freedom and truth, which he conveyed with passion in every place of operation, whether it was in the guerrilla, within the command or in the field of social activities," the PKK statement said.
