Residents in Hewler protest water shortage as temperatures reach 41 degrees

In the capital of the Kurdistan Federal Region, Hewler, residents of a neighborhood exasperated because of the extreme heat, closed the road to traffic to protest a water shortage.

According to RojNews, residents of the neighborhood of Badawe, in Hewler (Erbil) closed the road to traffic on Sunday to protest a water shortage that hit citizens during the scorching heat of the past few days.

It was reported that the residents of the neighborhood closed the 100-meter road leading to Hewler to traffic for about an hour.

The residents of the poor neighborhood of Badawe are protesting the fact that the authorities are not listening to their demands.

The residents who participated in the protest said that their homes have not been provided with water for four days, and that they cannot even turn on the air conditioner despite the extreme heat due to the lack of water.

The residents of the same neighborhood had previously protested water shortages. The KDP government refuses to find a solution to the problem. The air temperatures in Hewler are above 40 degrees.
