Shengal People’s Assembly and Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement protested against today’s attack by the Turkish state on Maxmur Camp in South Kurdistan.
Shengal People’s Assembly made a statement condemning Saturday’s attack by the Turkish army on Martyr Rüstem Cudi (Maxmur) Refugee Camp.
The Assembly held the governments of Iraq and Kurdistan Region responsible for the attack which it described as unaccaptable.
Yazidi Women’s Freedom Movement (YWFM) Spokeswoman Neam Bedel also spoke at the event and said the following: “We condemn this attack for which the Iraqi government is responsible. Turkish jets cannot bomb a camp in Iraqi soil without the Iraqi government’s approval. There is no difference between Shengal and Maxmur where the same policy is implemented. The UN and Iraq are responsible for this attack.”
