State forces paused their attacks on Şırnak last night due to a storm, as the popular resistance for self-rule enters its 29th day. Intense fog and storm conditions were observed last night in Şırnak province where clashes and bombardments had continued until yesterday evening. The city had its most quiet night in the last 20 days due to the stormy weather that lasted until this morning.
The attacks on the areas of self-rule resumed this morning, and state forces began to shell Bahçelievler, Yeni, Cumhuriyet and Dicle neighborhoods. Turkish military and police forces shell Yeni neighborhood from tall buildings surrounding the neighborhood.
The activity of Turkish drones over the city also resumed this morning with the end of the storm.
On the other hand, state forces continue to arrest civilians who had left Şırnak and went to nearby districts and villages. Baki and Nezir Katar were arrested and imprisoned by Şırnak Criminal Court of Peace judge after they were detained yesterday. Abdullah Güngen was also taken into custody yesterday and awaits trial.
