The Press Office of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) published a statement on the death of three guerrilla fighters. Baz Rojhilat and Tolhildan Colemêrg fell in an air raid on the Zap region on August 13, while Karwan Halaç fell two days earlier, also in the same guerrilla area in Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

"Our comrades Baz and Tolhildan were both always on the front line in all areas and fulfilled all possible tasks and responsibilities perfectly," said the HPG in the statement and continued: "They were born in different regions of Kurdistan and joined the guerrilla to liberate the Kurdish people and end the occupation and colonial rule over Kurdistan. With the ideology of Abdullah Ocalan, they matured into true guerrilla fighters of democratic modernity and participated on the practical level with great commitment. They had already participated in many actions against the occupying forces in the Zagros Mountains and dealt heavy blows to the occupying forces. They resisted all the adversities and became representatives of Apoist militancy.

The HPG statement said the following on the other martyr, Karwan Halaç: "Our comrade Karwan was born in 1995 in Bitlis. He grew up in a patriotic working-class environment. At school, the center of assimilation by the Turkish state, he learned the true face of the enemy and joined the guerrilla in 2014. Comrade Karwan was known for his commitment and creativity at the front. He was part of important successful actions in the Zagros Mountains. From the first day he joined until the day he fell, he fulfilled his duties with great zeal and conviction. Comrade Karwan leaves us his sacrificial attitude and fighting spirit as a perspective on our path to victory.”
