Three soldiers and two police killed in actions by guerrillas

Three soldiers and two police of Turkish forces were killed while one panzer was damaged in the ongoing actions by guerrillas.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement about the increasingly ongoing actions by HPG / YJA- Star guerrillas.

Accordingly, guerrillas conducted an action targeting the Turkish targets in Bahçesaray (Miks) district of Van from two sides at 22:00 on June 6.

The first guerrilla unit hit district governor's office and police headquarters with rockets and other weapons. One panzer was damaged here.

The second guerrilla unit hit the Military Battalion and destroyed an emplacement, which was followed by a short clash. While dead and injured soldiers left here were rushed to hospitals in Van, Turkish army started an operation in this area.

HPG noted that guards from the Nuisê village who refused to join this operation are being investigated by the police directorate and their arms have been seized.

According to the statement, two policemen were verified killed in this action while Turkish forces suffered further losses. The action was dedicated to fallen guerrillas Martyr Avaşin and Martyr Simko.

At 12:00 on 8 July, guerrillas carried out an assassination action targeting a Turkish military unit deployed around Çeper hill controlled by Beytüşşebap Battalion, which left one soldier dead.

One other action by guerrillas targeted the Bêrik outpost in Elazığ province at 11:20 on 6 July, as a result of which at least 2 soldiers died and 2 others got wounded.

At between 19.00 and 20.00 on 7 July, guerrillas took the road between Lice and Pasur districts of Amed under their control, gathered some 40 civilian cars travelling here and informed them about the ongoing process.

Soldiers and guards from Pasur's Şêxbuba, Hêrta and Kuyê villages opened random fire on the scene, which resulted in a short clash with guerrillas who left the area after the mission.
