Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) will organise a series of events on September 18-19 in Amed to raise peace demands against the war policies of the AKP under the slogan “all together towards self-governance”.
In a statement about the event, DBP drew attention to the ongoing policies of ignoring due to the Palace and AKP's non-acknowledgment of the June 7 election results. DBP pointed out that declarations of self-rule by the people have been responded by the state with deaths, arrests and terror acts, while on the other hand the demands of the people have been manipulated and used as a pretext for further repression and attacks.
Stressing that co-mayors, local council members and party workers are detained, arrested or removed from post on daily basis, the statement said a serious of events, including a sit-in action and formation of discussion platforms will be held on September 18-29 under the slogan “All together towards self-governance” in order to demonstrate democratic and peaceful reaction against these inhuman practices ignoring laws and the spiral of violence through speculations and manipulations.
The event will be attended by the representatives of DTK, HDP and HDK, as well as HDP deputies from the Kurdish region, co-mayors, counsellors, youth and women organisations and NGOs.
