Turkish aircraft shelled civilian areas in Qandil region of PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan territory at 02:00 last night.
The airstrike, which is the second one conducted within this week, targeted and damaged civilian settlements and the fields of local people living in Qandil.
The surroundings of Zergele village, the Kortek road which is a transition route, and the road between Ranya and Çoman are among the areas greatly demolished by the airstrikes of Turkish military.
Villagers speaking to ANF about the continued aerial attacks told that; “There are no guerrillas but civilians living here, who are mainly women and children. Turkish jets are bombing local people's villages, fields, gardens, roads and animals. They are leaving us without electricity. The administration of Bashure (Southern) Kurdistan must come up with a solution to this problem and say 'stop' to the ongoing attacks.”
Local residents stressed that; "We do know the true face of the Turkish government. They bomb civilians and militants indiscriminately as long as they are Kurds. They have no right to ruin the living areas of the people here."
