The continued bombardment of Mount Cudi in Şırnak countryside started a fire in Hesena area yesterday. While the fire spread to a larger area with wind-fueled flames, locals that wanted to reach the area to extinguish the fire were obstructed by Turkish forces “for security reasons”.

The territory where the fire continues houses the Syriac village of Hesena which had been evacuated during the 90's and to which residents have started to return in recent years.
