The Turkish army has launched a large-scale invasion operation in the countryside of the Lice district in Amed (Diyarbakır).

According to information provided by local sources, dozens of armored vehicles and helicopters are taking part in the large-scale operation carried out in the area of Şehît Kendal.

Reports are coming through of heavy clashes between the guerrillas and Turkish occupation forces.

The operation area is shelled by helicopters while the fighting is reported to be continuing.
