HPG and YJA Star guerrillas launched the Bazên Zagrosê and Cenga Xabûr initiatives, against the Turkish invasion attacks.

YJA Star guerrilla Evîndar Zagros, describing the guerrilla resistance in Zap, Avashin and Metina, said: "We will turn the Medya Defense Zones into a graveyard for the invaders."

Talking about the preparations they made before the invasion attacks, guerrilla Zagros said: “We were staying in the area of Derar, in Metina before the operation started. Before the operation, the enemy was constantly attacking the area, but we had prepared ourselves. Our preparations were ‘top notch’. My preparations, both ideologically and militarily, were very strong.”

Guerrilla Zagros added: “On the night of 23 April, the Turkish state carried out a fierce bombardment using warplanes. We played our part there as autonomous units. At that time, as YJA Star, we resisted the attack and the warplanes of the invading Turkish state had to withdraw. As YJA Star, we did not allow the enemy to settle in the area at that time.”

Guerrilla Zagros underlined the importance of the guerrilla resistance in Metina and said: “The resistance in Metina is unique. This resistance is based on our comrades’ will, determination, philosophy and ideology. This makes us stronger and helps us survive. Not only did we fight against NATO's second-largest army, we also made them step back and this is still the case."

Talking about the guerrilla's new era tactics, Zagros said: "We prevent the enemy from succeeding in the Medya Defense Zones, with the style and tactics of recreating ourselves. There is a belief in defeating the enemy with our tactics, there is also a commitment to ideas and ideology. The enemy got taken by surprised by the tunnel wars we are waging.
