Weddings in Van will now be subject to gendarmerie permission

The district governor's office sent a letter to the mukhtars in the Bahçesaray district of Van, requesting that they be notified of every wedding to be held two days in advance.

The District Governor's Office of Bahçesaray (Miks) in Van (Wan) took the attacks on Kurdish culture to another level.

A message sent to the neighborhood mukhtars by the district governor's office, said that those wanting to celebrate a wedding in the district should submit a petition to the District Governor's Office and the gendarmerie two days before the ceremony.

The district governor's office also said that those celebrating the wedding would be notified about "compliance with the necessary matters."

With the instructions of the District Governor's Office, weddings in Bahçesaray can now be held within the framework determined by the state.
