YJA Star guerrilla Mizgin Amed says the hunger strike in prison is a source of strength

Speaking about the 14 July resistance, YJA Star guerrilla Mizgin Amed drew attention to the situation of the prisoners on hunger strike and said that the tradition of resistance continues and that this is a source of strength for them.

YJA Star guerrilla Mizgin Amed spoke about the anniversary of the 14 July resistance and the hunger strikes in prisons which have been going on for 229 days. Stating that the resistance in Kurdistan is demanding the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, Amed drew attention to the tradition of resistance and said: "The resistance of our comrades in prison gives us great strength and morale. We are connected to each other like a people, so we influence each other. That's why we feel each other. Our love for each other keeps us going. The stance and resistance of our comrades in prison against the inhuman practices of the invading Turkish state is essentially a stance against fascism. There has been a historical resistance in prisons since the 1980s. This resistance has always remained alive with the heroic culture of 14 July and expresses life with the presence of Leader Apo."

Guerrilla Amed continued: "The resistance of our prisoners is a great source of strength for us. We may not be together physically, but we feel each other and live in each other's spirit. Today, the prisoners went on hunger strike for the freedom of Leader Apo and the survival of the Kurdish people. Now, no one can break the will of the Kurdish people or take them over. It's time for freedom. Our patriotic people stand with their actions and support this resistance. As guerrillas fighting in the mountains of Kurdistan, we salute the resistance of the freedom prisoners and our people."
