YPS: 10 special operations police killed in Dersim

YPS (Civil Defense Units) General Coordination reported in a written statement that their units carried out an action targeting a check point set up by special operations and anti-terror police in front of the former Courthouse building in Munzur neighborhood of Dersim on July 23.
In the action which was conducted from three sides, YPS and YPS-JIN members hit and destroyed two armored vehicles stationed here with rockets at close range, while another armored vehicle was damaged.
The police watch box at the scene was also hit with rockets, and destroyed.
YPS said at least 10 special operations police were verified killed as a result of the action, adding that the exact number of dead and wounded police officers is actually higher.
YPS stated that the action was conducted against the aggravated isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Units from Gazik Gendarmerie Special Operations Regiment rushed to the scene for intervention and this resulted in a short clash.
Turkish forces conducted raids in Alibaba and Dağ neighborhoods in the wake of the action.
CLASH IN VAN
YPS continued, reporting that a unit of 5 YPS members was engaged in a clash with Turkish forces in Van province on July 6. All the 5 YPS/YPS-JIN members were martyred in the fighting that lasted from 03:00 midnight till 08:00 in the morning. The ID details of the fallen YPS members are;

YPS General Coordination added that their units conducted a sabotage action against an armored vehicle of Turkish forces in Şehit Fırat neighborhood in Van's central Edremit district in the evening of July 23. While the vehicle was damaged, the number of those killed or wounded in the action couldn't be verified.
