YRK announces the death of a guerrilla in East Kurdistan

A guerrilla group of the YRK was ambushed by Iranian forces near Banê. Guerrilla fighter Rêvan Zagros (Hezil Acun) was martyred.

The East Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) released a statement announcing the martyrdom of guerrilla fighter Rêvan Zagros near Banê on June 9.

The YRK stated that the Iranian state has been taking massive action against the Kurdish people and guerrillas for a long time. Arrests and detentions occur, and drug use and prostitution are encouraged by the state. "Although the guerrillas make efforts to avoid combat situations, they are targeted for ambushes and operations," the YRK said.

On June 9, a guerrilla group was ambushed in the village of Binexwê in the Mûkriyan region near Banê. Rêvan Zagros was martyred in the incident. The YRK fighter's real name was Hezil Acun and she was born in Istanbul in 1995; her family came from. Dargeçit district of Mardin province. According to YRK statement, Rêvan had left for the mountains in 2014.

"Heval Rêvan was a very enthusiastic guerrilla fighter. She took responsibility as a group commander and was in the Şaho Mountains in Ciwanro, one of the most difficult guerrilla areas ever," YRK said, vowing to continue fighting for the realization of the dreams of the martyrs.
