Yusif: Kurdish people must exercise the right to self-defense

PYD executive Foza Yusif said that Turkey’s attacks targeted the existence of the Kurdish people.

The Turkish army has carried out massive aerial bombardments in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) tonight. The air raids targeted Medya Defense Zones, Maxmur and Shengal (Sinjar) regions and hit several locations including a hospital in the Serdesht region where survivors of the ISIS genocide against Yazidis are sheltered.

PYD (Democratic Union Party) Co-presidency Council member Foza Yusif spoke to Ronahi TV and said the following; “All the Kurdish people in four parts of Kurdistan and Europe, also their friends, should stand up and go into democratic action and manifest their resistance against these attacks.”

Yusif stressed that: “This aggression is not aimed at Shengal and Maxmur alone. It targets the existence of the Kurdish people. I invite the Kurdish people to exercise their right to self-defense.”
