21 militants of al-Qaeda affiliated armed gang groups were killed in clashes with YPG (People's Defense Units) fighters in the western Kurdistan city Serêkaniyê on Friday and Saturday.

According to the reports, 15 members of the gang groups were killed in clashes between YPG and ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Sham) and al-Nusra in an area between Serêkaniyê and Tel Halaf on Friday evening.

Clashes also continued on Saturday as YPG fighters responded to the gang groups' artillery shootings targeting Serêkaniyê city. Six gang members were killed and dozens of others were wounded in the clashes which later expanded to Tel Halaf.
